Autel: MaxiSYS MS909CV Commercial Vehicle Diagnostic Tablet

Autel, one of the world's leading providers of automotive intelligent diagnostics, offers the most comprehensive heavy-duty diagnostic tablet in the industry: the MaxiSYS MS909CV. This 9.7-inch wireless Android diagnostic tablet is made for light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles, including off-road construction vehicles.

The MS909CV offers Autel’s most comprehensive commercial vehicle diagnostic tablet and service capabilities, featuring:

  • All-systems auto scan
  • Network topology
  • Viewing and graphing live data
  • Performing bi-directional controls and tests for Class 1-Class 9 heavy-duty vehicles and off-road construction equipment

The unit also features Expert Mode for direct access to OE-specific systems, including engine, transmission, and braking systems. The MS909CV can perform dynamic and static ADAS calibrations (static calibrations require the purchase of an Autel Commercial Vehicle ADAS calibration package). The tablet ships with the MaxiBAS B200 battery/starting/charging system test device, Deutsch 6 Pin & 9 Pin and Full Probe set, and the MaxiFlash VCI/J2534 pass-thru programmer.

Benefits

The Autel MaxiSYS MS909CV is purpose-built for technicians and fleets that face the real-world complexity of commercial vehicles — from mixed OEM systems and modern protocols to DPF service and ADAS calibration. Whether in a fleet shop, diesel repair facility, or field service environment, the MS909CV delivers depth, coverage, and workflow efficiency unmatched in the industry.

The following use cases demonstrate how the Autel MaxiSYS MS909CV solves common fleet challenges.

Use Case 1:

Mixed-Fleet Diagnostics for a Regional Delivery Operator

User: Fleet technician maintaining Class 3–7 delivery vehicles
Vehicles: Freightliner, Ford, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Hino
Environment: High-uptime fleet shop

The Challenge
The fleet operates a mixed group of light- and medium-duty vehicles built with shared chassis but different OE subsystems (engine, transmission, braking). The MS909CV was designed to enable technicians to diagnose and service vehicles with J1939 networks, OEM-specific ECUs, and CV-specific fault logic, and eliminate excessive downtime.

The MS909CV Solution
• Full Class 1–9 vehicle coverage in a single tablet eliminates the need for multiple OEM tools
• Expert Mode provides direct access to OE-specific systems such as Cummins engines, Allison transmissions, and Bendix ABS
• Supports modern CV protocols (J1939, J1708, CAN FD, DoIP) without add-on hardware
• Wireless MaxiFlash VCI enables fast bay-to-bay workflow

Outcomes
• Faster fault isolation across mixed platforms
• Reduced vehicle downtime and improved fleet availability
• One tool supports the entire regional delivery fleet

Use Case 2:

Advanced DPF Diagnostics and Regeneration on Heavy-Duty Trucks

User: Dedicated heavy-duty diesel technician
Vehicles: Kenworth, Peterbilt, Mack, International
Environment: Independent diesel repair shop

The Challenge
DPF faults are among the most frequent and costly issues on heavy-duty vehicles. Incomplete regens, poor visibility into soot/load status, and failed prerequisites often result in repeat visits and lost productivity.

The MS909CV Solution
• Industry-leading DPF regeneration capability with guided workflows
• Pre-DPF regen checklist ensures all conditions are met before initiating regen
• Dynamic graphical DPF interface provides real-time insight into pressure, temperature, and soot load
• Supports Detroit, Cummins, Mack, Navistar, and Paccar engine platforms

Outcomes
• Higher first-time regen success rate
• Reduced comebacks related to DPF faults
• Improved technician confidence and diagnostic accuracy

Use Case 3:

In-Shop ADAS Calibration for Commercial Vans and Trucks

User: Fleet service manager or advanced CV technician
Vehicles: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, RAM ProMaster, trucks with Bendix Wingman
Environment: Fleet or service facility

The Challenge
Commercial vehicles increasingly rely on ADAS systems for safety and compliance. After windshield replacement, suspension work, or collision repair, calibration is mandatory, but many CV shops lack in-house capability and must outsource.

The MS909CV Solution
• Dynamic ADAS calibrations supported out of the box
• Static calibrations available with the Autel ADAS Frame System
• Coverage for Bendix Wingman-equipped trucks, trailers, and vans
• Integrated CV diagnostics and ADAS calibration on one platform

Outcomes
• ADAS calibrations performed in-house
• Reduced outsourcing costs and vehicle turnaround time
• Expanded service offerings for fleets and customers

Use Case 4:

Agriculture and Construction Equipment Diagnostics

User: Field service technician or AG and Construction repair specialist
Vehicles: Off-road construction and agricultural equipment
Environment: Job sites and service yards

The Challenge
Construction and agricultural vehicles share CV-grade engines and braking systems, but are often unsupported by standard commercial scan tools. Technicians need a single solution capable of handling off-highway equipment alongside on-road trucks.

The MS909CV Solution
• Comprehensive construction and agriculture vehicle coverage not available on mid-tier CV tablets
• Direct access to engine and braking systems used across off-road platforms
• Wireless operation ideal for field service environments
• J2534 pass-thru capability supports reprogramming when required (Windows PC and OE-subscription required)

Outcomes
• One diagnostic platform for on-road and off-road assets
• Faster service calls and fewer return trips
• Increased tool ROI for multi-discipline service operations
